Learn to Speed Skate Program starts April 4th for 6 sessions at only $97 including speed skate rentals.

Corydon Community Centre, Grosvenor Avenue

Mondays – April 4th, 11th, 18th & 25 @ 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm

Wednesdays – April 6th & 13th @ 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm

Requirements to register:

– ability to fall and get up on their own.

– ability to skate from the blue line to the other blue line without assistance.

–  minimum age of 6 years old.


Our 2022/203 Regular Season Programs begin in October 2022 and end March 2023

We have 3 groups/levels in our club based on skill level (and age) – see descriptions below.

4-Week Learn-to-Skate
• new to skating /basic beginner
• learn to stand on skates and glide
• learn to fall
• learn confidence on skates
• skaters are NOT required to complete this program before entering our full season programs

Group 1
• Learn to Skate (LTS)
• beginner and Special O
• learn to do cross-over strides
• learn to do basic edging control
• increase speed for next level

Group 2/Masters
• Learn to Train (L2T)
• intermediate skill level, and lower skilled Masters
• 54:00 seconds minimum 400m time
• Can do cross-overs smoothly
• basic edging proficiently
• develop specific speed skating technique and speed

Group 3
• Train to Train (T2T)
• Advance skill level
• 45:00 seconds minimum 400 m time
• proficient aptitude and execution of proper speed skating technique
• base physical fitness and speed to train at a high level
