Big thank you to the Interlake Speed Skating Club for hosting a camp this week in Selkirk with top National Short Track coaches from Calgary – Jonathan Guilmette and Joffrey Larocque! Skaters from our club and across the province enjoyed this experience and are ready for the new season!

Jonathan is an accomplished Short Track coach who excels at technical direction. He is a 3x Olympic Medalist (2002-2006) Currently, he is the Director of the Short Track Program, Calgary Olympic Oval. Past years have included Head Coach of Japan National Team (2014-2018). Head Coach of the Montreal Regional Training Center (2010-2014).

Joffrey was on the Junior National Short Track Team in 2002. He competed at the high performance level for 8 years. He is a level IV coach and coaches full time at the Oval. “Sport is a place of self-growth, there is no better places to push yourself to your limit to learn and better yourself.”  His focus is stage 2 athletes.
